Youth Support Workers Required in Newark

We are looking for friendly, supportive individuals to work with young adults aged 16 – 21 in a new project based in Newark on Trent.
As a Youth Support Worker, your duties will involve supporting young adults to find employment, education and training and accommodation and any personal goals they wish to work towards.
Some of the areas you will be coaching and supporting in are
- Attending meetings and advocating on their behalf
- Liaising with multi-disciplinary teams about outcomes and goals of the young people
- Support with daily living skills
- Shopping
- Domestic duties
- Eating and cooking healthy meals
- Attending social activities
- How to manage a budget
- Encourage Personal Care
- Staying in touch with families
- Day trips
Hours of work – We have 2 positions available
- Day Support Worker – Typical shifts are 8am – 3.30pm & 2pm – 10pm
- Waking Night Support Worker – 21.45pm – 7am
You will be required to work to a rota covering different days each week.

What is asked for in return?
- Previous experience of working with young adults
- An understanding of childhood trauma and it’s effects
- Understanding of the needs and challenges young people are facing.
- Confident and resilient when faced with challenging behaviour
- Be willing to undergo a DBS check (cost covered by employer)
